*Jan 19, 2014 I called Bushmaster, they told me that based on the serial number, it was made in their old facility in Windham, Maine (Roll mark confirms this), which means it was made before 2001, but they have sent all their records for that time frame on to ATF. Don’t just show us your build, tell us about it. Memes are heavily discouraged.

I work for a company that sells firearms, common Bushmaster Serial Number letters are: BK, BFH, BFI, BFIT, L, and ARA A side note, XM15-E2S was created to circumvent California law that originally made XM15 illegal. They subsequently made all XM15 variants illegal. Im looking for definitive list of pre ban verses post ban serial numbers. Several different sources say it was 35,222, but, several others sources say the post ban lowers have the year prefix in the serial number. As for your question contact me via e-mail I may have someone that may be able to answer soma questions.

The above chart shows the approximate first serial number shipped for the indicated year. This number should be used as a point of reference only. It is not necessarily the very first serial number shipped, but it can be used to determine the approximate year your Ruger firearm was shipped.Bushmaster Serial Number Decoder
Ruger does not produce firearms in serial number order. There are occasions when blocks of serial numbers have been manufactured out of sequence, sometimes years later. Also, within a model family the same serial number prefix may be used to produce a variety of different models, all in the same block of serial numbers. And in some cases, models may be stored for a length of time before they are shipped.
